Pabna 64 MW Solar Park Project Officially Enters Commercial Operation

Time:2025-09-30

Recently, the Bangladesh Pabna 64 MW solar park project executed by GENERTEC CMC successfully passed the commercial operation testing conducted by the Bangladesh Power Development Board (BPDB) and received certification, officially entering commercial operation. This milestone marks the successful completion of the second phase of Bangladesh's largest renewable energy cluster - the 500 MW renewable energy project. With this achievement, GENERTEC International's cumulative installed solar power capacity in Bangladesh has reached 164.4 MWp, making it the Chinese enterprise with the highest total installed capacity of solar power stations in Bangladesh and demonstrating the company's comprehensive integrated capabilities in investment, construction, and operation in Bangladesh's renewable energy engineering sector.

The Pabna solar park project is located in Pabna District within Rajshahi Division in northern Bangladesh, 80 kilometers from the capital Dhaka, with Padma River situated 1.5 kilometers south of the project site. Occupying approximately 13.7 hectares, the project comprises 11 photovoltaic arrays and is expected to provide clean electricity to approximately 60,000 households annually, equivalent to saving 38,000 tons of standard coal and reducing nearly 100,000 tons of carbon dioxide emissions per year. This will provide strong support for Bangladesh in enhancing green energy supply capacity, optimizing energy mix, and advancing energy transition.

During construction, the project team successfully overcame challenges including difficult construction conditions in sandy soil and alternating high temperatures and rainy seasons. With a commitment to the principles of "quality first, safety paramount, and schedule controllable," they ensured a high-quality, efficient, and timely connection to the grid. Local energy and other competent authorities have highly praised the project, repeatedly noting that it not only injects green momentum into Bangladesh's power supply system but also enhances local infrastructure and creates more employment opportunities, fully demonstrating the high standards and reliability of Chinese solutions in overseas energy cooperation.
