Introduction

The Ankara-Istanbul Fast Train Project 2^nd Phase Construction Works (Project) has been awarded to CMC in 2006 for the railroad length of 158km at the maximum designing speed of 250km/h. The Project is consists of 2 sections with the total contractual value up to 1.27 billion U.S. Dollars. As the owner of the Project, TCDD, known as the General Directorate of State Railways Administration of Republic of Turkey, enjoys one of the largest construction projects planned and invested by the Turkish Government in recent years. Moreover, the Project is also the largest construction project awarded to Chinese enterprise and therefore will contribute to the mutual political, diplomatic and economic relationship of the two countries with its positive impact in long term.
