In 2005, together with domestic and international cooperative partners, CMC signed the contract of two sections of the Phase-II of Ankara-Istanbul High Express Railway, with the total contract value of about US$1.27 billion. The project is 158 kilometers in total length, designed for 250 km/h in speed. In accordance with European standard, it is the greatest project which the Chinese companies undertake in Turkey as a general contractor. It is also the great breakthrough that CMC makes in the field of railway project contracting, signifying CMC succeeding in entering the market of European railway project contracting and opening up a new chapter in the history of Sino-European economic and trade cooperation.

    Besides succeeding in developing the Turkish railway project, the company is now closely following up a lot of railway projects of Indonesia, Pakistan, other Southeast Asian, and South Asian countries to drive for making greater achievements.
